A LOOK AT SWIM TRENDS FROM WWDMAGIC

MAGIC MARKET WEEK is the most comprehensive global marketplace for contemporary fashion and the largest destination for fashion buyers and brands in the world.

In August, over 200 swimwear brands brought their lines to SWIM at WWDMAGIC in Las Vegas, making it the largest collection of swimwear in the Western United States. New brands this year included Betsey Johnson and Seafolly, all the way from Australia. Daily runway shows provided fun and sexy glimpses at the latest trends for the upcoming season.

Bikini.com sat down with Chris Griffin, Vice President of WWDMAGIC, for the latest fashion forecast.

Bikini.com: What are your favorite swim trends from this year`s show?

CG: I love the nautical look. It`s very playful and sexy. Seafolly, one of our new designers from Australia, did a great job with this-showing a one-piece boy-leg maillot. Another favorite is the retro 1940`s sleek look. The Betty Page line is a great example of this-lots of high-waisted pieces, inspired by classic actresses like Lana Turner. I also love the [sea-to-café" look shown by designers like Nanette Lepore. This is a chic look that combines a cover-up and top and is perfect for resort destinations like South Beach, Tel Aviv, or The Hamptons.

Bikini.com: Which new brand stood out this year?

CG: Betsey Johnson really stood out. The line uses a ton of pink accents and is fun and sexy. Betsey Johnson takes a lot of great inspiration from lingerie.

Bikini.com: What trends do you foresee for next year`s show?

CG: I foresee a continued push with neon. About half of the population already looks great in neon. The other half of the population looks great in neon after they have a little bit of a tan.

Bikini.com: What else do you want readers to know about WWDMAGIC?

CG: If you are thinking of opening a swimshop and you can`t make it to Miami, come to WWDMAGIC. It is an amazing resource with over 200 swimwear brands and daily swim shows that each showcase 50-60 new looks.

We are the supplier of compression wear. Now we have our design department who is very professional on design, they can asorb the spirit of under armour and skins products. But sell at much cheaper price. Our compression wear include compression shirt, compression legging, compression shorts, compression half tights, compression accessories.

Compression Technology

Dynamic Gradient Compression

Our compression wear is high performance apparel to take into account compression levels needed to increase oxygen delivery to active muscles while in motion. We call this dynamic gradient compression.

We hooked up athletes and for the first time ever, were able to accurately measure compression on muscles in motion as they change shape with increased levels of oxygen-fuelled blood pumping through them.

This is revolutionary stuff all previous compression measurements have been carried out on athletes standing still.

We now know what compression levels are required for specific muscle groups whilst static, during activity and in post exercise recovery. We know where you need movement for comfort and injury prevention, and how to get the best circulatory benefits for more oxygen delivery and reduced lactic acid build-up.

Engineered Gradient Compression

We`re not just trying to squeeze you. Our gradient compression has been engineered to provide the correct level of surface pressure to specific parts of the body. This enhances circulation and gets more vital oxygen to your active muscles boosting your power, speed and stamina.

Improved circulation also helps to eliminate lactic acid build up and other metabolic wastes during an intense workout.

The result? You go harder, for longer and recover faster.

Fabric knowledge

The fabric for our compression wear is warp knitted using multiple fine quality yarns to give superior performance.

Warp knit fabrics have no natural stretch instead, the spandex mix ensures specific levels of elasticity and perfectly controlled compression. For a compression product this is superior to using circular knit which has natural stretch, making it hard to maintain the correct level of compression. Circular knit fabrics are also less durable and likely to run if snagged. Warp knit construction has a `float line` between loops to aid moisture management.Multiple yarns are used for added strength and to eliminate running if the fabric is torn.
