2.Tap the filter against a garbage can. However, be careful about this since you can send the dust particles you just vacuumed back up into the air or onto the ground.
3.Brush the filter using a soft brush such as a toothbrush. Make sure you do this over a garbage can to catch all the dust.
4.Using an air compressor, blow air backwards through the filter to get the dust particles off.
5.Rinse your filter under running water if your filter can handle this. Do not use running water on your filter unless your owner's manual suggests it.
6.Replace your filter every six to 12 months depending on what your owner's manual says.
7.Plan on cleaning your filters every second or third time you use the vacuum cleaner to prevent dust from getting into the motor and keep your vacuum cleaner's suction high.
