The watermelon root system prefers land with good air permeability. It is best cultivated in sandy loam with deep soil layer and well-irrigated soil. It is adaptable to acid and alkali, and is suitable for the land with pH of 5-8. The absorption of watermelon was the most potassium, followed by nitrogen, calcium and phosphorus. Partial application of nitrogen fertilizer will not be conducive to the transport and accumulation of watermelon sugar, so that the quality of the watermelon flavor is reduced.
